Lash shampoo is a specially formulated cleanser designed for cleaning and maintaining eyelash extensions and natural lashes. It's a crucial part of proper lash care as it helps remove makeup residue, dirt, oil, and debris that can accumulate on the lashes. Lash shampoos are generally gentle and formulated to keep lash extensions in good condition, extending your retention and maintaining the health of natural lashes.

Here's how to use lash shampoo effectively:

Materials and Tools:

  • Lash shampoo (specifically designed for lash extensions).
  • A small dish or lash shampoo brush (if included with your shampoo).
  • A lash cleansing brush or a disposable mascara wand (if a brush isn't provided).

Procedure:

Gather Your Materials:

  • Start by preparing all the materials you'll need, including the lash shampoo, a small dish (if required), a lash cleansing brush, and a clean, lint-free cloth or towel.

Eye Protection:

  • Before starting, ensure that the client's eyes are closed to prevent any shampoo from getting into the eyes.

Lash Shampoo Preparation:

  • If the lash shampoo is in a pump bottle, dispense a small amount (A few pumps) onto your lashes, i recommend doing one eye at a time.

Application:

  • Dip the lash cleansing brush or disposable mascara wand into the lash shampoo. Make sure it's not overly saturated, as you don't want the solution to run into the eyes.
  • Gently brush the lashes with the shampoo, starting at the base of the lash line and moving upward along the length of the extensions and natural lashes.
  • Be cautious when working on the lash extensions to avoid dislodging or damaging them. Use gentle, downward strokes to clean them.
  • Pay attention to the lash line, as makeup residue and oil tend to accumulate there.

Rinse:

  • After cleansing, use a damp, clean cloth or lint-free cotton pads to gently remove the lash shampoo. Start from the inner corner and gently wipe outward.

Repeat if Necessary:

  • If there's a lot of makeup buildup or the lashes are especially dirty, you may need to repeat the process.

Dry:

  • Allow the lashes to air-dry or gently pat them dry with a clean, dry cloth or use a lash fan. Make sure they are completely dry before opening eyes.

Brush Lashes:

  • Use a clean mascara wand or a lash brush to separate and style the lashes.

Important Tips:

  • Only use a lash shampoo that's specifically designed for lash extensions to avoid damaging the adhesive.
  • Never use regular face wash or other products not designed for lashes on lash extensions, as they can compromise the adhesive bond.
  • Be gentle when cleansing to avoid dislodging or damaging lash extensions.

Properly cleansing eyelash extensions with a dedicated lash shampoo is essential for maintaining their quality and appearance, as well as for preserving the health of the natural lashes.
